Fever Dream

been stuck in a fever dream
since the day I fell ill
don't know how to leave
or when it'll last until
fears blossom into monsters
that chase me all around
holding me underwater
until they're sure I've drowned
but they forgot it was a dream
that I couldn't really die
I can't wake up either
believe me, I've tried
every day is the same here
just a series of conflicts
but even if I woke up
I would still be sick
